Adopt Elm a Black American Pit Bull Terrier / Rottweiler / Mixed (short coat)

Location:
Greenville, NC
Description:

Elm is looking for her forever home! This pretty girl is the perfect pup! In foster right now, Elm is thriving with her canine besties and quickly making herself home! Here is what her amazing foster had to say about her:Elm is such a snuggly sweetheart! We've had her a little bit over one week now, and in that time, she has certainly come out of her shell. Initially she was super attached to me and was nervous to go near my husband, or really anyone else. After a couple of days, she became more comfortable around him in my presence and soon became acclimated to him being around without me - allowing him to let her outside, pet her, feed her, etc. The same goes for new people who come around - she has an initial shyness and hesitation, but warms up to them quicker now.She loves to love and she loves to play! If you get on the floor with her or let her up on the bed with you, she will do everything to get as close as she can to you - giving kisses and laying her head, or whole body, on you like a pillow. She certainly finds comfort in 'her people'. We have 2 dogs: she a;ternates between playing tug-of-war with our 7 year-old lab and getting the zoomies playing chase with our 2 year-old beagle. She never turns down an opportunity to play-wrestle with both of them. She does really well in her crate / loves to have her leash put on to go somewhere / will hop right in the car and sleep on the ride / enjoys chewing on dog bones, but also loves a stuffed toy / she sleeps throughout the night out in our room without her crate. We have a cat and she does just fine around him, and has briefly been around a child- she was nervous at first, but warmed up after a while. If she barks or growls, it's because she's scared (sudden noise or sees something out of place) and is usually coming to find you for comfort - she certainly doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She hasn't bothered with anything that's ours (shoes, socks, etc), but I think having a lot of dog toys around helps. We love her a whole lot and can't get over how sweet and adorable she is. While she enjoys the company of playing with other dogs, we also think she'd be just fine on her own with love and attention from her human(s)!
