Introducing Thanos, now called Louie! Curious Easy-Going Friendly Snuggly Hello, I'm Louie! Let me tell you a bit about myself.I'm a super curious Great Dane who loves to investigate every noise and new smell I come across. My days are filled with lounging on comfy dog beds, making new friends, snuggling with my favorite people, going on walks, and playing with all sorts of toys.I’m a social butterfly and make friends with everyone I meet. I especially adore men, particularly those with beards, but I get along well with women too. While I may have had some experience with children in my original home, my current foster family doesn’t have any. So, introductions to children will need to be slow and structured. I would do best in a home without small dogs, cats, or birds.My health is in great shape now, thanks to the care of my wonderful foster family. I came into the shelter in rough shape, but I've made a tremendous recovery. I haven’t been neutered yet due to my previous poor health, but if I’m adopted before that happens, there will be a neuter clause in the adoption contract. My adopter can take me to a UMGDR-approved veterinary clinic, and the rescue will cover the cost. If they choose a non-UMGDR clinic, the rescue will reimburse $150 after the surgery is complete.I’ve got an adventurous spirit, so my adoptive family will need to have a physical fence to keep me safe while I explore. I do well with basic commands and am great on a leash, though I can be a bit reactive around other dogs. However, I’ve been redirected successfully numerous times. I’ve got the whole crate-training thing down but I'd much rather free roam.I adore spending most of my time outdoors, and if given the chance, I might dig a few holes. I also tend to bark at any activity outside the home—what can I say? I like to keep an eye on things!
