Name: Popsicle Best Guess for Breed: Lab, retriever mix Best Guess for Age: 3 months as of 5/7/24 SEX: Female Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 15.8 lbs as of 5/16/24 Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. Currently Living at: South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get her freedom ride up here! Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy. Popsicle is Looking For: Hello! I'm Popsicle, and I'm looking for my forever family. I want to explore my new neighborhood and run around the local parks and see the world with them. I want to test all the toys to see what I like best - balls for fetch? Ropes for tug? Squeaky plushies to shake? Yes, please! And I want to make lots of pup and people pals. And to go to puppy school so I can show what a super smart girl I am! I promise to give you lots of kisses and tail wags and to make you laugh. And to always be your say. What do you say? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog. Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered. As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than August 7, 2024. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets. Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog! TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!Shelter locationOur adoption events are held each weekend.
